Huntington Residents - Register for Free Street Tree by September 6!
One Month Left to Sign Up for Oaktober!
The last day to sign up is Sunday, September 6.

Our goal is to plant 500 new trees this October – enough to unofficially call it "Oaktober."
(Oaktober is a catchy name, but we'll plant a variety of trees. Huntington's Urban Forester, Emily Hayes, will determine the right species and size for each location.)
Planting zones are determined by an American Forests grant through the USDA, so not all addresses will be eligible. However, everyone interested should still sign up! We'll have additional tree-planting opportunities outside of the grant.
Root 4 Your Block Competition
The zone shown on the map below that has the most homes sign up for Oaktober will be named the winner of our friendly Root 4 Your Block competition.
The winning zone will receive:
- A Community Celebration at the Huntington Drive-In on October 3 with a showing of “The Wild Robot”
- A Planting Day (also October 3) to line a street with 100 extra trees, donated by Indiana University's McKinney Climate Fellowship program
